The church stands in a solitary spot immediately after Perdonasco and Spares Mounts. These are two seasonal settlements (traditionally known as ‘monti’) that belong to the town of Dorio. The little church was built so that the alpine population from Dorio could celebrate religious festivals without always having to travel the long distance back to the parish church.
