Historically, it was a secondary route, used mainly by herdsmen and hunters, joined later by the spalloni, the local smugglers, who used it intensively for the cross-border trafficking from Gravedona and Dongo to Roveredo.

Please note that the stage is demanding and does not have intermediate structures for overnight stays.
